What About Bob? Bridgewater Plaza Crime Scene

The 1991 crazy comedy, What About Bob?, was filmed at Smith Mountain Lake - the site of the Bridgewater Plaza shootings. In the movie, starring Bill Murray and Richard Dreyfuss, a successful psychiatrist (Dreyfuss) loses his mind after one of his most dependent patients, a highly manipulative obsessive-compulsive (Murray), tracks him down during his family vacation.

The setting for the fictional narrative was Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire, but because the leaves were turning their fall colors, the movie was filmed in and around the town of Moneta and Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia.

Quote from the film:

[Leo has a rifle pointed at Bob]
Bob Wiley (Bill Murray): What are we doing?
Dr. Leo Marvin (Richard Dreyfuss): Death Therapy, Bob. It's a guaranteed cure.

The suicide occurs on Interstate 66. "You can get your kicks, on Route 66". Also, a TV show with the same name, "Route 66".

The next may be a stretch, but here goes . . . The murders occurred on a state or county highway 122, divided by 2, it becomes 61. Bob Dylan's famous song "Highway 61". "Where do want this killing done? God said down on highway 61".

There does seem to be a glitch in the matrix.

How sync-y (and sad) is this: Martin Milner, star or TV's "Route 66" died today Monday Sept. 7th, 2015. He was 83.
